Location: Cottenham, Cambridge
You will support the multi-disciplinary engineering team in assisting with the design and providing detailed drawings and BOMs. You must be accurate and have experience of mechanical design. Experience of electrical drawing would be advantageous. This role will require a hands on, flexible approach.
Typical Work Activities Include:
- Undertake duties within a multidiscipline engineering drawing office
- Be responsible for the progress of drafting projects from concept to the issue of drawing deliverables
- Production of general arrangement, detail, procedural and system schematic drawings
- Preparation of bills materials and purchase requisitions
- Be proactive in the development of the drawing office system improvement initiatives
- Checking of drawings
- Preparation of basic calculations and hand calculations
Requirements:
- Appropriate engineering/CAD qualifications or experience as a design draughtsperson within an engineering environment
- 3D CAD package experience (SolidWorks)
- Familiar with BS drawing practices
- Full UK driving licence
